hiking with my gf

here's the problem - i am hooked to mountaineering and im getting tired explaining to my girlfriend why am i so crazy about it.. the solution - bring her along! =) yes i know that's easier said than done.. well maybe.. read on.

for starters, this is what i meant..
group picture in (cinco picos june '07)

see what i mean? first you have to be able to convince her to go with you even if it means she is the only female in the company. so how exactly do you do that?

my general rule is to make her feel comfortable no matter how difficult the the situation is. be honest. convincing her that the trek is easy may backfire when she finds it difficult.

now don't start lecturing me about safety. that's not my point here. of course i would never undermine safety considerations. if she is not up for something too risky, dont force her to do it.
can you see me at parrot's beak.. (pico de loro jan '08)

no thanks!!! let her pass on this one (pico de loro jan '08)

think in advance of simple things that will make her comfy under certain circumstances like in the next picture

i bought this sofa to be used in camp (batulao sept '07)

i brought a salbabida(floating device) for her (famy mar '07)

when the trail allows it you can hold hands together while walking and try to lighten up the mood. you may be getting a different high with getting tired, sweaty and all but to her it may be boring and nonsense.

and whenever she gets tired..

be ready with your anti-dote.. chocolates(you can pick wild flowers for her but i doubt she will appreciate it).. just hand over the candy please??!

you can't go wrong with a bar of chocolate (pico de loro jan '08)

during long trek, i just tell her to follow her own pace and try to enjoy the environment.

gf trudging on her own pace. sorry guys (cinco picos june '07)
